I liked this one more than the first book in the series. I like Jane and Jimmy’s alternate chapters. The ending was open ended and I think there will be another book in this series which I am looking forward to reading.

I didn’t realize this was a book for middle schoolers when I picked it up . That being said the subject matter is very deep, murder, abuse , child lose and grief . I couldn’t gauge the time setting . The 13 year olds have to help out and work crabbing, culling chickens etc and they even smoke cigarettes. I feel it would be hard for children to connect to this book today.

I love the main character and the whole romance aspect. Great queer representation. Felt ending was slightly lacking but still loved the journey. Loved the magic, the humor, everything. Hard to put down.

I don’t think I want to read any more books by this author. I tried her last one and that was a DNF and this one was almost a DNF too but I pushed through. I didn’t like Josie at all, she was too much of a wallflower character.

The Wishing-Well Spell

This was the best book! I wanted to keep reading it and was sad it was over. My favorite part was probably when Daisys friend wished to be a grown up, at the wishing well, and she turned into a grown up but she learned she didn’t like being a grown up and she turned small again at the end of the book. She wanted to be a kid. Matilda - age 7

The story kept me engaged and kept me guessing. I’d recommend this book for someone who enjoys psychological thrillers.

I loved this book. I could stop reading, its leaving me eager to start the second. As always this is a classic Rick Riordan book, with all his humor.

Slow to start, but because I’ve read books by this author before, I knew that the first bit of the book was for character building and that the suspense would come later (and it certainly did). Every time I thought I had all the pieces of the puzzle fit together, I was thrown a curveball and left completely stunned. Lisa Foley’s books are by far my favorite psychological thrillers and this one was great! A little bit of a darker, grittier read, but still very enjoyable and gripping.

Interesting book, it was very fun and I learned a lot. The behind the scenes info on the process of creating and filming The Guild was very informative.

Flint is my favorite poem from here. Saw him on AGT and had to get his book. Super great. He can get a little religious which isn’t typically my cup of tea but it wasn’t too much. Still a great poet and sooo amazing.
