Subtle Blood
KJ Charles
what a sweet and dramatic finish to this sweet and dramatic romance between a lord-turned-PI and a soldier-turned-bookseller. In this final episode, Will helps Kim confront his family trauma when Kim’s elder brother is accused, quite logically, of murder. Kim has no love for the brother who spent their childhood torturing him physically and psychologically, nor for the father who permitted it all to happen. But the thing is, if Will and Kim are to have their future together, it would certainly not be aided by Kim’s role as the heir to a Marquis. So, Kim is prepared to sacrifice whatever it takes to keep the crumbling estate away from them both. That is, until Will gets framed for another murder.

The Ragged Edge Of Night
Olivia Hawker
An historical fiction based on a real person, a former friar in Germany during WWII who joins the resistance and along with his wife encourages the town people to to continue living their lives by supporting each other and especially the children. An uplifting story, beautifully descriptive and emotionally charged.

In a Sunburned Country
Bill Bryson
I read Bill’s book about the Appalachian Trail and found it hilarious, so I decided to read this book. It wasn’t as funny as A Walk in the Woods, but it was amusing. It was really about the history and geography of Australia. Very interesting.

It's a Love Story
Annabel Monaghan
Entertaining love story that's more than just fluff. A great beach read, but also a look at former child stars, perception vs reality, and real love vs Insta-love.

One Of Us Is Lying
Karen M. McManus
I don’t usually like many books that are based off of movies but I had to give this one a try because it was based off of one of my all time favorite 80s movies The Breakfast Club and it lived up to the hype. It kept me reading for hours with all of the plot twists and diverse characters. All of the characters are written in depth and it leaves you wanting to know more. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series!

What Kind Of Paradise
Janelle Brown
Set in the mid-1990s, this novel felt both of its time period and timely for today: then, the early popularilty of the Internet, and today's similar feeling around AI. Jane grew up in an isolated, off-the-grid cabin in Montana with her father. She knows little of the outside world, just that her mother died in a car crash and they used to live in the California Bay Area. But as she gets older she wants to know more, and she starts to question her dad's teachings and ever-more-disturbing actions. Technology vs. nature; isolation vs. society; innocence vs. knowledge — this book is suspenseful, poignant, and a great read.
